The CEO of Makani Kai Air tells “Hawaii News Now” that the Cessna Caravan commuter aircraft that crashed off the northern coast of Molokai “experienced catastrophic engine failure” prior to splashdown near Kalaupapa, Molokai. The crash took the life of state Health Director Loretta Fuddy. Although the aircraft may be unrecoverable, the National Transportation Safety Board will continue its investigation. Aloha, Russ.
