Pearl Harbor survivors gather in Hawaii to remember day of infamy
Los Angeles Times
PEARL HARBOR, Hawaii — About 2,500 people gathered at Pearl Harbor on Saturday to remember those killed in the 1941 Japanese attack that launched the U.S.
About 50 survivors of the Pearl Harbor attack of 07 December 1941 returned to Hawaii to participate in ceremonies commemorating the attack that led the United States into World War II. After a round of speeches and a flyover by vintage aircraft, the Pearl Harbor veterans were honored by a parade through Waikiki. This may be the last reunion for some of the survivors, since many of the vets are now in their late 80s and early 90s. Aloha, Russ.
