Mathison was appearing via videoconference from prison in Arizona. His attorney was present at the hearing.

This devastating murder case is coming back to haunt family members. Ken Mathison, a former Hawaii Police officer, was convicting of killing his wife Yvonne in 1996. In addition to the murder charge, he faced a concurrent 20 year sentence for kidnapping. Yvonne’s surviving family members appealed to the parole board not to let Mathison go.
