Contract award expected soon for 50MW geothermal project on Hawaii’s Big Island
Pacific Business News (Honolulu)
Huena Power on Hawaii Island is one of the leading candidates for the geothermal project. Representatives from New Zealand, including Maori stockholders of geothermal projects, are trying to convince native Hawaiians that the geothermal project is a win – win issue for everyone. Native peoples get the profits and the island gets more sustainable power. Approximately 14% of New Zealand’s electricity is generated by geothermal facilities. Aloha, Russ.
