Navy: Training, testing may kill marine mammals
Hawaii News Now
HONOLULU (AP) – Navy environmental studies say the service could inadvertently kill hundreds of whales and dolphins during training and testing over the next five years.

Russell Roberts‘s insight:

I’m glad the U.S. Navy is "telling it as it is."  It’s not pleasant news, but, now we know some of the unintended consequences of our training activities.  The cost to marine mammals will increase in the years to come as the Pacific Rim becomes the focus of our defense strategy.  And, as you might guess, Hawaii is in the middle of all this.  Enjoy peace and quiet while you can…the future will arrive soon enough.  Aloha, Russ.
