Second tropical cyclone forms in Central Pacific
Hawaii News Now
Tropical Storm Unala formed far southwest of Hawaii, becoming the second tropical cyclone in the Central Pacific with a Hawaiian name.
Russell Roberts‘s insight:
Tropical Storm Unala has formed far to the west of Hawaii and is not expected to assume hurricane status. An earlier storm named Pewa has gathered sufficient strength to become a typhoon. Like Unala, Pewa doesn’t present a threat to Hawaii. Aloha, Russ.
