No surprise: Hawaii gasoline the costliest – Hawaii News – Honolulu Star-Advertiser

As the "Honolulu Star-Advertiser" says, "no surprise."  High shipping costs from the mainland U.S. to Hawaii and higher rates still for interisland shipping of fuel surely contribute to the high cost of motor vehicle fuel in Hawaii.  Until alternative fuels become more plentiful and less expensive than petroleum, we will continue to pay an ever increasing price for our gasoline.  All you can do is travel only when you must.  Aloha, Russ.
