Hawaii County struggles to pay for police raises
Hawaii News Now
KAILUA-KONA, Hawaii (AP) – Hawaii County is trying to figure out how to fund nearly $4 million in police raises.
Russell Roberts‘s insight:
Apparently, the Hawaii County budget had to be submitted before all of the union contracts were approved. The result is an approximately $4 million deficit that must be resolved. Most likely, several county departments will see some of their funds bled off to pay for the new SHOPO contract. Aloha, Russ.
