State hospitals to seek $14M in emergency funds
Hawaii News Now
With its privatization plans on hold, the Hawaii Health Systems Corp. says it needs $14 million in emergency funding from the state.

Russell Roberts‘s insight:

The Hilo Medical Center is part of this ailing system.  Some private hospitals are also on thin financial ice.  The North Hawaii Community Hospital most likely will partner with the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu to solve its financial problems.  With "Obamacare" just around the corner, local hospitals may not be able to handle the expected influx of new patients.  All you can do is stay healthy, stop smoking, drink in moderation, diet wisely, and get exercise.  National Health Care is going to take its toll.  Aloha, Russ.
