Council tries to slow Big Island waste-to-energy plan

HILO, Hawaii (AP) – The Hawaii County Council is trying to put the brakes on an aggressive plan to have a waste-to-energy plant built by 2016.
Some more background information on the waste-to-energy plant for Hawaii Island. Some County Council members contend that there’s not enough garbage to run the plant efficiently.
