Maui police issue 530 speeding citations
Hawaii News Now
WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) – Maui police say a weeklong special traffic enforcement operation has resulted in 634 tickets. Sgt.

Russell Roberts‘s insight:

I think the warning is clear–slow down or get ready to pay.  Hawaii County could earn some extra cash by patroling Highway 130 between Pahoa and Keaau.  As I was returning from an errand in Orchidland Estates, a car passed me going pretty fast.  I was going almost 60 mph when this guy in a Nissan Versa passed me like I was standing on glue.  I think I’ll stick to the posted speed limit in case my time is up.  Aloha, Russ.
