The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) is the national association for amateur radio, connecting hams around the U.S. with news, information and resources.
Amateur Radio Operators Richard Darling and John Bush are serving as communications links between the disabled vessel and rescue personnel. Bush, who won the American Radio Relay League’s 2012 International Humanitarian Award, has done much to improve communications neteworks and infrastructure in the Federated States of Micronesia. The Big Island Amateur Radio Club, of which I am a proud member, has partnered with Rotarians to bring text books, medical supplies, computers, and hygiene items to these isolated islands in the Pacific. Aloha, Russ (KH6JRM).
