MANOA (Hawaii News Now)- The University of Hawaii will host cyber games next weekend to beat hackers at their own game. It’s the rollout for the new Cyber Range opened today on the Manoa campus.
In light of the recent revelations from former Hawaii resident Edward Snowden, the need for cyber security is painfully evident for this state and the nation. Warfare in the 21st century is getting a definite cyber adjustment. The Hawaii cyber games, to be held 02 August through 04 August 2013, will give local banks, schools, businesses, and individuals some of the tools necessary to combat hackers, whether they be individuals or state-supported entities. Security is serious business. Just look at the damage Mr. Snowden has done to our credibility and intellilgence gathering ability. Aloha, Russ.
