Big Island police investigate Hilo carjacking

Big Island police are investigating an apparent carjacking that happened Wednesday night in a parking lot of a Hilo shopping complex.

Hawaii Island police are holding a19-year-old former Mountain View resident in connection with the alleged carjacking. The suspect remains in police custody. The 14-year-old girl accompanying the suspect was released to the custody of her parents. Aloha, Russ.
