Hawaii sees more visitors, but total spending stays flat in May

Visitor arrivals to Hawaii rose by nearly 4 percent in May, but total spending was flat at $1 billion, the Hawaii Tourism Authority said Friday.

A mixed bag for the visitor industry. At least visitors are still choosing Hawaii for their vacations. The challenge is to keep that vacation affordable while still generating revenue. We mustn’t get too greedy and price ourselves out of the tourist market. Aloha, Russ.
