Hawaii governor signs 7 agricultural bills
HONOLULU (AP) — Hawaii’s agriculture industry is set to establish a strong position in world markets with new legislation to help farmers, Gov.
It’s about time the state addressed our food dependancy. The new laws are a step forward in making Hawaii more food sustainable. It’s kind of ironic that Hawaiians in pre-contact days could feed a population estimated to be over 300,000, while our modern state, with all its technology, can’t end our addiction to foreign goods, oil, and even food. It’s time we learned to take care of ourselves. Aloha, Russ.
