See on Scoop.it – PRG HAWAII NEWS WITH RUSS ROBERTS
Edward Snowden, who has worked at the National Security Agency for the past four years in Hawaii, speaking during an interview with The Guardian.
It’s unlikely this former Hawaii resident and NSA employee will be surrendered to the United States. If he can find a friendly embassy (i.e. Equador), he will spend the rest of his days bottled up in some building out of our reach. There are plenty of countries with a grudge against the United States that would be willing to cause us grief over this. Just look what Russian President Vladimir Putin did–he thumbed his nose at us and chuckled as he did it. This case reveals just how incompetent our internal security really is. Why wasn’t Snowden vetted properly four years ago? Someone dropped the ball a long time ago, and we’re paying the price for our negligence. President Obama is playing a losing game here. All of this is part of a larger picture involving espionage–something author Ladislas Farago called "The Game of Foxes." Check out his book. You will be amazed at some of his revelations concerning the "Cold War." Aloha, Russ.

Although the book was written years ago, most of its points are still valid. Russ
