Family of missing man suspects foul play

They and another son, Mark, traveled to the Island of Hawaii and hope to find their son alive, they told the Hawaii Tribune Herald.

Yep, sounds like wrong place, wrong time…..but knowing that part of the island; I don’t think there’s ever a good time to be there!!
So true! Sadly, that part of our home island has become the “twilight zone” of places to live. Many people have gone to the Puna District in past years and have simply gone missing or turned up dead. I remember years ago when the local gambler Benny Madamba turned up missing after a dispute with some crime leaders on Hawaii Island. The remains of his body were found months later in an abandoned cane field near Pahoa. Although that incident was over 30 years ago, it still troubles me. I fear many visitors don’t know what’s in store for them when they come here. Some people are just too trusting. That misplaced trust can have fatal consequences.
