Murdock offers $645M for Dole

Less than a year after he sold the island of Lanai, David Murdock is taking Dole Food Co. private again.
Russell Roberts‘s insight:
Apparently, Mr. Murdock, who is 90 years old, is investing for the long haul. Going private means he will not have to answer to a board of directors demanding profits every year. Most likely, Murdock will sell off portions of his vast land holdings when the timing’s right and the chance for profit is high. Murdock says he plans to live to 125, thanks to a strict diet and exercise program. Aloha, Russ.
