AAA Hawaii: Gas prices mixed – KHON2

AAA Hawaii: Gas prices mixed
Local gas prices were a mix of modest increases and a decrease in the surveyed areas compared to last week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.

Russell Roberts‘s insight:

Here’s the update on current gasoline prices around the state.  There has been a slight increase in price over last week.  Don’t look for fuel prices to decrease over the long term.  Prices will increase as the Middle East political situation destabilizes.  The only bright light in this scenario for Hawaii is that most of our imported oil comes from Sumatra, not the Middle East.  Plans are also moving ahead for a biodiesel facility near Pahala.  The "Hawaii Tribune-Herald" has a headline story on this development in today’s (07 June 2013) edition.  Aloha, Russ.
