Tesoro Hawaii begins layoffs of first 165 employees

Tesoro Hawaii Corp. is proceeding with its first round of layoffs on Monday, nearly two weeks earlier than it anticipated.
The first round of layoffs for Tesoro Hawaii is underway. Impending furloughs of federal employees (due to sequesstration) and the layoff action from Tesoro aren’t good news for Hawaii. Add to this mix the coming property tax increases and the PUC-granted rate hike by HELCO and you’ve got a tight financial situation for most consumers. ‘Looks like I’ll be spending a lot of time in the family garden and just relaxing at home.
