Big Island news update, 15 August 2009


As of 2:00 pm Hawaii Time,  the center of Hurricane Guillermo was located about 1,685 miles west of the southern tip of Baja California, moving west -northwest at 15 mph.  Maximum sustained winds are near 110 mph.  Weakening is forecast over the next couple of days as Guillermo moves over cooler water far east of the Big Island.  A weather graphic is available on our station’s website…look for the hurricane tracker icon.  Updates will be added as they become available.
